Jeffrey Lim and Antoine Loncle are part of the Kotak Kamera Trio, a collective of the only known box camera builders and photographers practicing in Malaysia. With common experience in various forms of traditional analog mediums, they have banded together in an aim to promote and showcase these living and physical forms of photography. Each of them have individually built their own home-made cameras, often using recycled materials, repurposing vintage cameras, and employing improvised building techniques.

These methods have resulted in unique cameras, each with personal touches suiting of the respective builder’s workflow and process. While each of them have held events and exhibitions individually, this will be the first time photographs and cameras of this sort are showcased in Malaysia under one roof.

This is an opportunity for you to see them at work, to hear stories from their far-flung journeys and have your portrait taken.
